The painting process has begun. Painting plays a major role in safety by preventing the hull from corroding.

The bottom of the ship is red because it is coated with antifouling paint (mainly composed of copper suboxide) to prevent barnacles and other aquatic organisms from attaching to there.

Aquatic organisms on the bottom of the ship increase ship's weight and resistance to water currents, resulting in significant energy loss to navigation.
