Field Training Ⅰ, Ⅱ

This is a training program to catch tuna and other floating fish such as yellowtail and dolphinfish using the floating longline fishing method. (Special fishing permit)

In addition to examining the catch characteristics of different types of bait and hooks, GPS, depth and temperature sensors are used to determine how the longline drifts and where the fish are caught.

This is a training to catch bottom fish such as cod, Atka mackerel, rock greenling, and yellow body rockfish by bottom longline method.

In addition to examining the catch characteristics and species composition by bait size, we will also study the effect of fishing reefs on fish aggregation.
