Practical training in the Department of Applied Marine Science focuses especially on observation theory lectures and demonstrations of oceanographic instruments and measuring devices, as well as drifting bin surveys. Students will also have a tour of onboard equipment, squid fishing, ropework, and other practical training common to other departments. On the last day, a group presentation on a theme of interest will be given.
