Visa Interview
Hello!
I am SUNAKAWA Yumi, a 4th year student at Nomura Labs!
We need a visa for this cruise as we will be going through Alaska and Nome before going to the North Pole. I had a visa interview at the U.S. Embassy in Japan in Akasaka, Tokyo!
10:00 Arrival at Ueno Station, Tokyo
I had an appointment for an interview at 1:30pm, but I went early just in case.
10:30 Arrival at Akasaka
Walking down the street, there were various embassies, including Spanish, Saudi Arabian, Georgian, etc.!
11:00 Lunch
We had lunch at a well-established restaurant in Akasaka.
The people around me spoke a language that was not Japanese and was full of elites.
12:00 To shrine
I had some time to kill, so I went to Akasaka Hikawa Shrine, a shrine dedicated to Johnny's (I'm just saying that on my own).

13:15 Permission to cross the pedestrian crossing to the U.S. Embassy (there were several security guards at the end of the pedestrian crossing in front of the Embassy. They hey said you cannot cross the pedestrian crossing until 15 minutes before...)

Very nice weather.→
13:20 Check passport and interview appointment in front of the premises
13:25 Baggage Inspection: Smartphones and other bluetooth devices must also be turned off. (There was a foreign YouTuber in front of me, and he seemed to be having a hard time because he was carrying a lot of equipment. The security guard was talking to him in fluent English.)
13:30 Receipt of documents (documents and photos will be checked)
13:35 Fingerprinting
13:50 Interview
The interview was conducted in English. I was asked questions about what I was going for and how I would go about it. The interview lasted less than 5 minutes. The visa I obtained is a B1/B2 visa, which is intended for people who are entering the U.S. for business, travel or medical treatment.14:00 Leave the building
I went in a suit, but everyone was in civilian clothes, so I felt a little out of place. ( ;∀;)

I was nervous about the interview, but I really enjoyed hanging out in Tokyo! (^^♪
