Continuous Distillation Equipment-Raw material flow-
Here, in addition to the flow of raw materials (water-methanol) , we also introduce the equipment that is essential for actual operation.
The purity of methanol obtained as distillate changes depending on the stage of supplying raw materials to the fractional distillation tower. The purity of methanol obtained in the initial stage is close to 100%, and it is possible to produce methanol with a higher purity than the special grade 99.8% and the first grade purity 99.5% sold as research reagents.
Continuous Distillation Theory : Flow of cooling water
Cooling water is not considered in continuous distillation theory, but it is essential for actual operation.
This training uses water-methanol as a raw material, and methanol can be obtained as a distillate. Methanol is a flammable organic solvent that is dangerous to the human body. To operate safely, it is necessary to cool the methanol with cooling water.
Continuous Distillation Theory : Flow of steam
Steam is not considered in continuous distillation theory, but it is essential for actual operation.Steam comes from the boiler room of the Main Research Building. This is the heat source. Heating can be adjusted by opening and closing one valve.Since there is a time lag between heating (opening and closing the valve) and can pressure, it is necessary to adjust the heat source little by little, which requires technology. It is important that the can pressure is expressed in the unfamiliar unit of "mmAq" .
Continuous Distillation Theory : For safe handling
Operating the device is dangerous.
Steam leads to burns and deterioration of the equipment due to empty burning.
If the raw materials continue to be supplied and the cooling water does not work, the building will be filled with toxic methanol vapor.

Continuous Distillation Theory : Control board
From the control board, you can get information on the switch for operating the continuous distillation equipment and the raw materials in operation.
You need to be careful about how to read the flow meter. The important points are that the numerical value is read on the flat surface (top) of the weight, and the temperature of the fractional distillation tower is the temperature from the top (top of the tower) to the bottom (evaporation can) of the device from the numbers 1 to 6 in the meter.

Two-stage Compression Refrigeration System
