  • Overview of Organic Chemistry Experiments

      The fundamentals of organic chemistry, from research on natural products of biological origin to organic synthesis, are reaction, purification, and identification. In addition, physiological functions of organic compounds are also important in the fields of aquatic chemistry and food chemistry. In living organisms, even slight structural changes can lead to major changes in biological activity, so rigorous purification and identification are extremely important techniques for understanding the functions of compounds. Therefore, in this experiment, lipids are mainly used as materials, and the objective is to acquire the following basic techniques and knowledge.


     (1) Acquire basic techniques for handling organic compounds, their principles, and knowledge of organic reactions.


    2) To acquire knowledge and techniques for extraction and purification of natural organic compounds. 3) To acquire knowledge and techniques for organic compounds using equipment.


    (3) To acquire knowledge and skills in analysis and identification of organic compounds using equipment.


    (4) To understand the physiological functions of organic compounds by conducting bioactivity tests.


     The main focus of this experiment is to actually work with one's own hands. Therefore, to the extent possible, this experiment was conducted by individuals rather than by groups.
