單元大綱

  • This is a floristic survey on seaweed conducted by the Laboratory of Seaweed, Faculty of Fisheries Sciences, Hokkaido University. Warm-water and cold-water seaweeds grow along the coast of Hakodate in an environment where the Tsugaru Warm Current and the Oyashio Current mix. Our goal is to reveal recent environmental changes by comparison with previous records, besides making a record of current vegetation. In addition, since species identification is an essential basic knowledge for applied science, you will participate in floristic surveys in addition to your own research once you join our laboratory.
