The ocean general circulation is called the thermohaline circulation.When high-salinity water is cooled, it forms dense, heavy water.Ocean circulation occurs as high-density water sinks one after another.The figure below schematically shows 1) where deep water is formed, 2) where deep water is recooled and bottom water is formed with high salinity water, and 3) where bottom water thickens in the deeper layers and the deep circulation ends.Understand where these locations are.
