      Type II collagen can be obtained from the notochord. Type II collagen is contained in special tissues, such as the cartilage, and is a valuable collagen with a small amount distributed on the market. The notochord is a tissue unique to the ancient fish Acipenseridae, which normally degenerates in other animals.
